Thunderhill Films
Thunderhill Films was created because of a stone. A 418 lb. stone to be exact. Kviahellan, also known as the Husafell Stone, rests in a remote valley in Iceland. The challenge handed down centuries ago was to lift Kviahellan and carry it 50 meters around a goat pen. Steve Jeck thought that sounded like a good idea.
It also seemed like a good idea to document Steve's preparation and attempt to lift one of the world's greatest Clach Cuid Fir, Gaelic for Manhood Stone. I was a filmmaker in search of a film. Our collaboration was born of our respective passions and many years of friendship, dating back to our days as college roommates. During these early days in the Appalachian Mountains, we would gather at our favorite vista and name the paths that we envisioned lay ahead of us. Our documentary would be a common path -- as this vista had been common ground. The vista, as it has been known to others for many years, is called Thunderhill.
Thunderhill Films is proud to continue documenting unique achievements in strength and athleticism with Into the Distance, which follows Adriane Blewitt's accomplishments as a nationally ranked shot putter and world-class competitor in the women's Scottish Highland Games events.
